about

Rob wrote the original version of “Credo” in memory of his friend, author and raconteur Brian Doyle. Dissatisfied with that version, Rob later rearranged the song into two parts, mournful and celebratory. But again the song did not satisfy him. Rob decided that the first part was too lugubrious, so he trimmed it and asked Paul to fill in the second part with a lively, defining solo. Then Rob found the inspiration (no doubt from Brian) to give a musical nod to Australia, where Brian’s writing was/is as popular as it was/is here in the US. Hence, the intro with the solo didgeridoo.
